Why when I see you my breath stops
My stomach twists in knots
My lips twitch and jerk
My adrenaline pumps in watts
Why when I’m next to you
My lungs ache to breathe you
My heart longs to love you
My body wants to feed you
Why when you say my name
My ears are acute
My heart skips a beat
I’m suddenly mute
Why when you walk past me
My nose follows your smell
My feet rises off the ground
My body toward you propel
Why when I dream of you
I find myself flushed
Awake with a smile
To reality than I’m crushed

I can relate to this poem, especially the last two lines. Sometimes our dreams can be painful if what we’re hoping for in our dreams is something we don’t have in real life.
