O Negro Souls

O Negro Souls

Who will weep for the

Negro souls

Rivers are formed

As their blood flows

Who will fight for the

Negro people

Who has been slain

Since the times of medieval

Who will take care of the

Negro child

Whose parents were destroyed

From the drugs and alcohol gone wild

Who will look out for the

Negro widows

Who has no one to care properly

We can call them weeping willows

Who will stand for the

Negro nation

Who are destroyed more and more

With every new generation

No one will weep, nor stand

No one truly cares

What happens to the

Negro woman and man

Just look around you

Honestly take a look

Who is standing for our suffering?

We are like fish on a hook

Consumed by all who

We come in contact with

Taken from our own land

By people we had no contract with

Ever since our feet touched the boats

Our suffering has been perfect

Even after hundreds of years

Plans are made against us with a negative effect

I just watched a true story

Of a 14 boy named George Stinney

Who was accused of a crime

Death penalty, electrocution, no evidence, not any

That is only one story among hundreds of years

Of the horrific things done to the Negro

In the land where our stolen cargo bodies were taken

On ships of many peoples our depot

Sometimes the pain runs so deep

You can’t help but tear up and weep

For all those mistreated, hated

Negro souls

Sometimes you lose sleep

But really who cares

No one

No one truly cares

I mean No One
