I took a walk on a winter’s day

I saw the trees and full array

The leaves were gone

The stumps so strong

I wondered of them

Every twig every stem

I sat down on the grass

I watched a leaf glide pass

I felt the breeze through my hair

The sun peeped unaware

I felt no heat from it’s dim stare

I then felt a sudden despair

I missed the sun

And summer fun

Then I saw a bloom

Smelled a flowers perfume

My heart leaped with delight

Spring was finally in sight

I hugged myself thinking of the sun

Soon it’ll be time for summer fun
